Artist Agreement

I hereby submit this application to become an exhibitor in the Oakwood Fine Arts Festival and agree to abide by the policies and regulations as established by the Festival Committee, Chautauqua-Wawasee and the Oakwood Resort.

By submitting this application, applicant hereby and forever releases Chautauqua-Wawasee, the Oakwood Fine Arts Festival Committee and Jury, the Oakwood Resort, Oakwood Foundation and agents and representatives of any of the above listed organizations of and from all manner of actions, suits, and damages, claims and demands, whatsoever in law or equity, from any loss and damage to the undersigned’s property during the Oakwood Fine Arts Festival.

The undersigned also agrees Chautauqua-Wawasee and agents may use photographs, videotapes, audio or televised recordings, along with various social media for the festival publicity, documentation or archival purposes.

Our jury consists of a panel of artists, art educators, and visual art professionals. The names of our jury and our artists are anonymous, for obvious reasons. The jury adheres to strict guidelines in evaluating artwork. Artwork is evaluated using the same criteria regardless of the type of medium, the subject matter, the style or who created it. All artwork considered must be fine art or fine craft and judging criteria includes concept, composition, value, techniques, creativity, originality, quality of the art piece, and overall presentation. Arts and crafts that follow pre-established, popular trends do not fit the fine arts criteria, as they are not purchased as an investment that may increase in value over time. All jury decisions are final.
